Would You Say The Blame Was Mine?
August 26, 2023
Oppressive wall of greenery charred
Firebrand arsonist standing tall.
Judgement admits consideration—
Your thoughtcrime burns like kerosene.
I can hear your empty heart beat
Hatchet on carved birch sternum.
Words flow through your charcoal brain;
Your mouth’s muscles work the cud.
Draw, coward; speak and stand firm:
Would you say the blame was mine?
